Nov. 18, 2008
It's my birthday. Yup, on this day the eighteenth of November in the year of our lord nineteenhundred and eighty I was born. That makes me a whopping 28 now. Yeah I'm an old guy. Be warned kids, the older you get the closer together those birthdays seem to get.
Nov. 9, 2008
I'd like to point over to my Deviant Art where I've uploaded a new featuredDeviation. If you love Megaman or The Protomen then I hope you'll enjoy this one. I've decided I should spend a little more time just drawing for myself, so that I don't get locked into only ever working on the comic. It just happens that this time the results of that drawing turned into something I wanted to show off. If you care to follow into my scraps there's new stuff there too. Or you can save yourself the trouble and put me on your watch. Though I'll still keep plugging my deviant art because it seems no one knew I had one until I did. I suppose it is rather burried down on the links page.
Nov. 06, 2008
First of all I'll point one last time to Keen Zombies Where the final updates for 2008 are up. Enjoy the last bits of crazy over the top violence before everything gets all lovey dovey for the rest of the holidays.
That out of the way I'd like to mention that My Deviant Art has updated again with a few more scraps. Check if you want to.
Also there seems to be some talk of an election of some sort today.
Oct. 27, 2008
EDIT: Yet again, double your updatedness. Another Keen Zombies Is up. That's the end of my story arc, but I did get one other contribution, so expect one more of these updates before you escape the zombies for another year. And of course, if you somehow missed the above, there's a new AntiBunny page up too.
EDIT: Double your update tonight. Not only is there a new Nailbat above, you'll also see
yet another new Keen Zombies
Since last post Keen Zombies has been updated twice now. I'll just edit this post with updates through to the end, so keep an eye out for KZ update notifications.
Oct. 16, 2008
Yet again, there is a new KeenZombies up, so go take a look. Yet again it's not too late to join
in if you have any zombie comics or art. I'll keep taking entries all through October. As
apparently KZ is not the only event doing zombies this year, there's been a bit of competition compared with last year, so another event is pulling off some of the people who want to draw zombies. Of course that means no ill will toward that event. Though I will say
that their entries are closed and the KZ entries are still open.
While I'm on a rant I'll include that it seems a new Marvel Zombies is coming out. I'll wait for the hardcover and snap it up then. I'm hoping for something a touch bit more ludicrously violent than Marvel Zombies 2.
Edit: Also check out My Deviant Art where I just put up a cottontailload of AntiBunny related sketches.
Edit 2: I've gotten this question a few times so I'll answer here. What kind of markers do I use for inking? The answer is Copic Sketch Markers. They have a wide selection of shades and colors, the ink is smooth, but it does bleed if you don't use a heavy bleed proof paper like bristol or cartooning paper. They're pretty expensive too, but on the upside you can refill them and replace the nibs, so they're a long term investment. I advise the sketch markers because they have an easy to grip oval shape, and two tips, one a wedge for prescision, the other a brush for broad applications. They're challenging to learn but in terms of potential they're probably the best out there. Each character has their own pallette of uses. Typically I use cool grays for silver, gray, and bluish tinted characters, and warm gray for brown and red related tones. For instance Piago is mostly shaded with Warm Gray #1, with shadows being Warm Gray #3. Hannibal I shade with Cool Gray #3, highlight with Cool Gray #1, and shadow with Cool Gray #5. I shift everything a shade darker when the scene is dark, or may just leave areas unshaded if something is in a very brightly lit scene. So that's my toning materials.
Oct. 04, 2008
It's now october and if you haven't taken notice already, KeenZombies has now begun. It will update
with pages of my own contribution "AntiZombies" followed with contributions from other comics. If you want in on the undead action the submissions are still open. I accept both zombie comics and zombie artwork, and there's no style or quality standard so feel free to join in. Keenzombies is rated Web-MA so there's much more opening for the crazy violence there. Just email me if you want in.
Sept. 12, 2008
I have two things to say here and I must begin with the good word. That is the word of THE PROTOMEN. If you've yet to follow my rantings and go see their site, then you should go now, because if you check their news section you'll find that they've uploaded a free download of the track "Breaking out" from their upcoming album. It's so friggin' 80's and I just can't stop listening to it. The Protomen did rock and they saw that it was good. Go and get it NOW! It's free. No excuses.
Now then, moving along. I'd also like to point out that the return of KeenZombies is fast approaching. In fact, while the official launch date for 2008 isn't until October 1st I've put up something extra you should see on Monday. If you want to get in on it, submissions are still open.
Aug, 28, 2008
There is a strong chance of missed updates next week due to Hurrican Gustav coming my way. I'll have Sunday up but for the following week or two I don't know if power or phone lines will be down. A fair heads up for those who won't also be run over by this storm. In the meantime I've put up a new comic in the links section My Private Little Hell
so maybe during the possible downtime there's something else out there to fill the void. I also added one more pic in the "My art" area of the art section. It was intended to go up with the previous update but I overlooked it.
Aug. 21, 2008
I've updated the art page with a new art for ANT as well as the Penelope entries from the Ms. Comicgen contest I mentioned a few entries back. It's not to late to vote. As always the newest stuff is at the bottom. Hit the art page and scroll down.
Aug. 15, 2008
School time again, as I yet again pursue an end to blue collar life through the halls of
acedemia. In the meantime I'd like to mention, it's the birthday of a certain little lady.
That is my bunny Nel. Happy birthday. Yes she is being spoiled with greens, carrots, and an expansion to her house.
Jul. 31, 2008
Some updates have been made to the links section. If you look there you'll see that
a few of the old links to now dead comics are sadly gone. I don't do that sort of
thing lightly but for at least one the artist has admitted to abandoning the comic and
moving on to a new one, and the others have had their artists missing for over a year
which is long enough to declare legally dead. If they ever start updating again,
I'll put them back up. In the meantime I've put up some new links in their place 2 of them
featuring bunnies. So go take a look. I'm sure you'll dig Angry Bunny, Goth Bunnies,
and Full Frontal Nerdity.
Jul. 10, 2008
Everyone knows in this comic that hate crime against rabbits is what Nailbat fights against.
It's very unfortunate that Nailbat doesn't exist in the real world because I'd very much
like him to break the legs of This Jackhole. Killing an animal for pleasure is not something
I can accept. It's a vile disgusting habit, and this reeks of a serial killer practicing for
people. If you are a German reading this, I urge you to keep your rabbits indoors. House
rabbits are much happier and safer than hutch rabbits.
Jul. 07, 2008
If you haven't noticed already I've done a bit more work on the front page. The nag bar and archive nav buttons now take up less space to allow the shoutbox to move up to a more visible spot. Maybe now that people know it's there I'll get some more comments. It hasn't gotten much use since I took down the sidebar in favor of the top and nag bars above and below the comic. The PW ads also have more space now, so hopefully more comic artists can advertise
their comics there instead of it just being dominated by two big advertisers.
I want to give a mention to the Mr/Ms/Thing comicgen contest which is going on
Here
So come in and vote for Penelope (whom is the first entry on the second page of the topic.)
Also you get to see some new art pics that I haven't posted anywhere else yet, so maybe just
take a look if you're not into joining the comicgen/keenspace community. If you have an account on the AntiBunny forum by the way you already have an account there, as they're actually part of the same wider community.
Jun. 16, 2008
You'll probably notice if you take a look above the comic that I've made a few changes to graphics on the page. I've changed the main banner a bit altering it to have a slightly grittier asthetic but also cutting its height in half. I did the same for the nav buttons.
The last time I changed the site was to address complaints of the site being too wide,
now I'm working on it being too tall. It took me a while to realize but there's half a page
of banners and buttons before you get to the actual comic. As such I've shrunk both buttons
and banner, and moved the archive nav buttons to below the comic. Easy enough if you've
missed an update to scroll down and back up, and out of the way for people who
want to hurry up and see the latest. That's a bit of scrolling for those of you who
skip updates and read them in bulk, but I've left the nav buttons on top in the archive pages, for that very reason.
Why is it I get these productivity bursts right when I should be going to bed? I have work
in the afternoon and it's nearly sunrise.
Jun. 08, 2008
Problem solved. A new comic will be up in an hour or two. Since I missed the Nailbat Update
but already have the comic finished, I'll be posting Nailbat for the Sunday Update, so we'll
be skipping this week's Gritty City Stories. That comic is only in pencil stages and I
was working on fixing the computer instead of drawing. I like this page so I won't be rushing it. I'll just ask everyone to patiently wait until next week to find out what happens to Pooky. As Nailbat has been held off long enough already you'll get Nailbat for sunday, another thursday, then the normal schedule resumes. Thanks for being patient everyone.
Jun. 06, 2008
Update on the situation. It looks like the problem may actually lie within the video card its self. Reinstalling drivers and reinstalling windows accomplishes nothing. Any application that demands video memory immediately crashes the system. Looks like I have to get a new video card and that is not in my budget. As such I won't be able to update until I get paid next week at the earliest. So that leaves me unable to update. I've put out a call for guest strips, so if you ever wanted to draw something for AntiBunny, now's your chance.
On a different note, one of the mystery commissions from A-kon has been identified and the art page has been updated with the artist's contact info.
Jun. 05, 2008
Sorry, it looks like this week's nailbat will be late. No fault of my own I assure you. The comic is drawn and ready to go, but I'm unable to scan or edit it due to computer problems. It seems that paint shop pro has some corrupted files. BADLY corrupted. At this point I suspect they're sitting on top of a physically damaged sector of the hard drive as I can't even run the uninstaller without all of windows crashing, and running the repair utility is out of the question for the same reason. I suppose it's time to invest in a new hard drive. So soon after A-kon I hope I have the funds for it. This doesn't even begin to include the sheer amount of software that will have to be reinstalled now. Why does technology hate me? I'll go see what I can afford in the morning. Hopefully I'll be able to get this comic up on time. If I don't I'll just post a double update next week.
Jun. 03, 2008
I'm back from A-kon. A good time was had. I got to network with a lot of other artists, and
of course do plenty of plugging. I was fortunately able to meet with the artists from
VG cats,
The Devil's Panties, and
The Archie Sonic Comic"> just to name a few. I got a ton of art done for AntiBunny while I was at it. Go take a look at the
Art section to see lots of great AntiBunny art
from a slurry of talented artists.
There's also a couple of pieces from myself down at
the bottom so take a look there too. I did run into a little problem with two of the pieces I recieved not including contact info so I wasn't able to include proper credit to the artists. If you happen to be one of these artists then by all means contact me so I can add proper credit.
Edit: Also pics from the con can be found Here
Mar. 28, 2008
Sorry everyone there won't be a thursday update this week. I normally don't miss updates but
I've been packing for A-kon all day and finishing up my artwork for the artist's alley and
making touch ups on my cosplay. However the sunday update is uploaded so you'll still get
your regular dose of Gritty City Stories. I had the time for only one and the main story
seemed more important than Nailbat. Sorry Nailbat Fans. I'll return with lots of new
art to make up for it.
Speaking of A-kon if you're there say hi to me and check out my art at the artist's alley,
maybe make a bid. There'll be some AntiBunny related art in the mix as well. I'll be cosplaying Faust from Guilty Gear (a guy in a labcoat with a paper bag on his head carrying a giant scalpel) so if you see me say Hi and mention AntiBunny. Just call me by name "Vinnie D." If you make a printout of any art from the site I'll sign it for you. If you also run a webcomic let's network.
If by chance you're reading this after the con and came here after finding one of the many cards I'll be leaving around, welcome, give the comic a read and take a look around.
Apr. 26, 2008
I want to make mention of 2 things. First of all the fanart has been updated. Parables from the forums sent me this awesome CGI render of Metabat. It must be beheld for it is as sleek and mean looking as I ever imagined him.
On a side note in a moment of sleep deprived delerium I opened a Deviant Art Account. So I figure I'll post some stuff up there and maybe drag a few people kicking and screaming over here. I may post some of my non webcomic related drawings as well, so there could be stuff there not related to AntiBunny as well. I'll give it a link proper later.
Apr. 24, 2008
I have been contacted by the maker of This Page letting me know he's doing a rather interesting project. Collecting a massive gallery of webcomic logos, including the logo for AntiBunny. Looking at the gallery, which you can find here, it's sort of fascinating to see what kind of feeling a logo alone provides without the context of its website to frame it.
On a totally random note I've taken up the hobby of Yo-yoing. Sound strange? Well I'm not too good at it but with practice I'm getting better. Some say it's a child's hobby but hey I also collect transformers, so it shows how much I care about outside views. As an adult though I can far more appreciate the physics involved and how such tiny muscle movements can result in various movements of the yoyo. I thought I'd just mention that. it does kind of help me clear my head when I'm approaching a brainlock so possibly this little hobby can prevent any hiatus on AntiBunny. Two years now and I've avoided it so far. My problem though has never been a lack of ideas, but rather too many conflicting ideas all trying to get out at once. My muses are noisy.
Apr.13, 2008
This semester is really flying by. It's almost finals time, so I hope I can make it through without getting brainlock. I feel like it's rapidly approaching if I don't get some mental rest soon. On the upside I'd like to point out that Casey and Andy is updating once again. Is it now a fad for abandoned webcomics to make comebacks? You know some of us were updating our webcomics BEFORE it was cool.
Mar.31, 2008
It would appear there has been a cameo of Penny over at Stalag 99. Thanks goes to the author as I always love to see a good cameo. On the reverse side of the coin it seems a major chunk of the images for antibunny vanished from my hard drive today. I don't know why but the folder looks corrupted. Thankfully everything was already uploaded so I was able to get it back from the server, and only one folder was affected. Maybe April fool's day was getting a head start on me.....God I hate that day. It seems to be a day devoted to all of society shutting down for the sake of a joke no one thinks is funny. A clown flipping someone off is funny. A fat guy falling down is funny. A skater taking a rail to the junk is funny. Making your website unusable for a day is not funny. So please instead of self vandalizing your website, please just find the nearest fat, skater clown and hit him in the junk with a rail while pushing him down as he flips you off, and be done with it.
One last thing. I caught a mistake in the archive way back at chapter 3 which was causing the numbers on the archive page to not match up with the actual page numbers. It turns out that twice during chapter 3 with pages 53 and 56 I lost count and gave two consecutive pages the same page number. I've fixed the problem by removing the page number on the archive page (though the image will remain unaltered) and simply call those pages "two parters". Thankfully they were at least consecutive pages allowing me to do that. Would have been a lot of work to fix otherwise. I certainly didn't want to renumber all the pages, especially since it would make #100 move, and I like that page
where it is.
Mar.16, 2008
I've made a few updates to the links section. A few new comics are up there
that are worth looking at, and sadly I've removed one of them. The webpage has been down for a few months now and the author hasn't posted in the forum since mid 2007. I can
only assume it's abandoned and unfortunately gone from the internet. I also
resized a few of the bigger banners that were stretching the tables there. In addtion
the archive page is caught up...yeah I know I shouldn't need to even post that. I'll
work harder next time.
Mar. 6, 2008
If you look back up at the comic you'll notice the cover for Nailbat Begins is up. I've been
promising it for long enough and I couldn't tease forever. Expect to see lots of new
faces as well as some old ones.
I'd like to point out for you avid webcomic readers that Van Von Hunter Seems to be updating again after a long hiatus.
Also coming off hiatus is LightBringer which
is fitting that its return coincides with Nailbat returns since Nailbat begins opened up with a shot, not of Nailbat himself but rather LightBringer in comic book form. Maybe I should start using my rant space here for a hiatus watch.
In other news, Brawl launches in just 3 days. If I should I appear to be dead please come pry me from my Wii and stick a pencil in my hand. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Approach slowly with bribes of sushi and beer.
Feb. 18, 2008
You may have noticed something new in the nag bar. Those using firefox just noticed
a new adblock. I beseech you to unblock it. That is a Project Wonderful ad and it
is much beloved by we webcomicers. Project Wonderful ads are open to everyone. You
yourself can put an ad right there just by clicking the little blue text beneath.
The majority of the Project Wonderful ads are for other webcomics, so you might
actually find something you like there. Some of you even got here through
clicking one of my ads from some other comic site. Right now the ads are free, so get in early.
Feb. 15, 2008
It's that time of year again. With Singles Awareness Day passed Keenlace has launched and
the 2008 run has begun, and you'll find in the very first update, a pic from AntiBunny.
So go and take a look at those oh so lovely NSFW images, and maybe in the process find
a new comic you enjoy.
Feb. 13, 2008
Well that was a fun little guest week. Back to the real deal now. The time off has been quite beneficial. Thanks again to Ataraxia Theatre for all the help.
Jan 16,2008
Two things. First in short if you check the Art Section you'll find one more new piece from me down at the
bottom. A pic of Maynard from End of Things.
Go take a look at it. You might like it...or you might not. It's all worth it for the
"ass in assassin" arc if nothing else.
But I have much bigger news than that. At the conclusion of chapter four which will arrive
on February 2nd, I'll be taking a short break from the comic while I build up chapter
5 and focus a bit more on my school work. During this time I would very much like to
post guest strips, and am currently taking submissions between now and then. If anyone
is interested you'll get your art on the front page and a plug directly to your own
website/comic/ect, your comic will receive a permanent place in the archive and you'll
of course have my eternal thanks. That said get to drawing not much time is left....yeah
sorry for the short notice. My fault entirely.
Jan.12,2008
I'd like to take a moment to mention how amazed I am with the growing power of Webcomics.
Webcomic XKCD has inadvertantly set off a google
bomb drastically raising the popularity of the search "Died in a Blogging Accident"
This story also made Slashdot.
Jan.10,2008
Why oh why did I take a class at 8:30am? I love the class but I hate the time. Anyway
I'm just posting this to point out a new piece of art from myself in the art section, devoted to
VGcats. Go take a look.
Jan. 5,2008
Registration went smoothly. Some day I'll be teaching your children to draw emo bunnies.
I'd just like to take a moment to point upward to that nag bar. You'll see this month's
wallpaper featuring Ed is now available. As always you can go to the art section to pick
up the sample sized version, or send a donation as small as $1 to get the full. Can
you handle a screen full of afro sporting BAD MAMMAJAMMA? Don't worry if you were planning
to get the old avant garde paper. It's still up in the store and art section, it's just
been rotated out of the nag bar.
Jan. 3, 2008
Heheh, almost typed 2007 right there. But that was the past and this is the brave new world
of internets, robots, and green alien babes. I'd just like to announce a small update.
I've updated the about section, and it holds something that I hope to get at least some
response to. In addition to the two existing flyers you can find there, I've added
a smaller business card, and a new incentive to post them. Post a flyer or a card in
a public place and take a picture. If you send that picture to me I'll post it here
in the rant and plug your website right on the front page. For the sake of saving time
you can also get those flyers right here Flyer 1/Flyer 2/Card
Enrollment is in the morning, so I'll be returning to college yet again. After changing majors a year ago I was forced to sit out the 2007 fall semester due to money problems.
Said problems have ended now that my car is fully paid off, I've also halved my car insurance
by taking off some old vehicles and changing companies. But having just paid tuition
I'm still broke for a week until payday. Now is an excellent time to buy a shirt, a commison, or just donate and get one of those wallpapers. Seriously I'm down to buying
store brand ramen here. *holds up cardboard sign saying, will draw for caffeine.*
Dec. 20, 2007
Holy crap it's almost Christmass. How quickly the year goes by. Sorry again for the late update, it should be showing up now or within the hour. Along with more of The Silence,
comes an update to art thanks to the secret santa ran over on the forums. You'll see a
new piece from me for War of Winds, and a new piece
FOR me from SPQR Blues. I quite like it.
In other news it looks like Hannibal has made a breif appearance in Project A.D.A.M.. You should
go read this comic.
In a personal note, I find it hard to believe myself but I've purchased a PS2. The system I've spent years ranting against, is now in my home. Last generation I stayed loyal to Nintendo, and I do not regret it. The majority of games on the PS2 and Xbox simply didn't apeal to me. Though I do enjoy 1st person shooters I prefer them on the PC. I simply don't have the time for games of the girth and length of Final Fantasy. This generation I of course have my beloved Wii, but there is a bit of a slump of games I'm waiting for between now and febuary. I'll admit I'm a big sucker for mascot games like Mario, Sonic, and Megaman, so Smash Brothers Brawl is the big name on my list. But for now there is a chance to play some games I've missed over the years, including, strangely a small handfull of Megaman games that somehow landed on the PS2. I am a devoted fan of the blue bomber, so
I will take this chance to catch up on what I've missed.
Between installing the PS2 and upgrading the Wii to component video cables, this involved a trek to that forbidden and untamed wildnerness, we call "Behind the Entertainment Center".
I discovered no less than eight cables (counting AV cable groups as a single cable) that
weren't even hooked up to anything, and an entire boombox from the early 90's that somehow was still functional. Not to mention the cables for a NES, I don't even have anymore. Such
a frightening and terrible place. Thanks to plentiful twist ties, it is now a neater and somewhat more organized place, but the cable faries will surely undo this work by the next
time I'm forced to undertake this journey.
Dec. 2, 2007
Wow, it's december already. It's getting cooler down here, but in the south I can't
say it often gets outright frigid. I'd like to point upward, and you'll see there's a
new wallpaper in the nag bar. Similarly there's a small sample sized version in the art
section, where you can see the whole thing, before you buy. The old wallpaper is
of course still available, but this shiny new one is in that new fangled color stuff.
I hear they have color on computers these days. And that some day computers will be so
small that they can will be able to add up to ten columns in minutes, and do multiplication
in less than an hour! And the crazy thing is, they might even be so small, that
they take up less than one entire room. Such a brave new world.
Before I get too off track, I'd also like to point out, while you're in the art
section that I've done a small piece for Ugly Girl a
cute little comic that's worth checking out. Also did one for Candi. That's all the ranting I have for tonight.
Nov. 20, 2007
So I had a Birthday back on the 18th, which you've no doubt noticed in the rants. I had
a good time, joining a few friends in consuming, copious amounts of sushi. One showed
up late but, since the others had left by then, and I was too full to move, the added
conversation was appreciated greatly. I treated myself to Metalocolypse season 1 DVD
box set. You may or may not know that I am a metalhead, so a show about a heavy metal
band is right up my alley. I've been using the Dethklok CD as inspiration while I draw
the comic, and in the past few strips you've probably seen the influence.
Another album I'm greatly enjoying is the self named album by "The Protomen" a rock
opera styled band, which makes songs about Megaman. Being a big fan of the blue
bomber, this CD was the perfect gift. Yeah, you know who you are. Thanks big time.
On a short side note, Life's a Witch, and Fox Tails in the Links section have both moved and
I updated links there to reflect it. In another bit of news, the Keenspace/comicgen Secret
Santa fanart event has started over in the forum. If you've got a comic, you should go over there and sign up. Who knows, you might even end up drawing for AntiBunny, or I might end up drawing for you.
Nov. 9, 2007
You may have noticed a few changes on the front page. As many of you have demanded I
moved the nav buttons to the top of the comic rather than the side. They'll remain
on the side in the rest of the pages of this site since they don't compete for space with
a comic anywhere but the main page. I hope no one minds that little onconsistency, but I've
always preffered in both design and use, to have buttons on the left. Please tell me
if you see any errors in the main page because of this. You never can be quite sure
with how tables display in different browsers. If you're not using FireFox then you should be.
Second since, the donate button and the vote button no longer have a home on the left I've
moved them to between the comic comments and the rant and shoutbox area. I have dubbed
this area "The Nag Bar". You'll also notice the donate button is different now. Notice
that bit of text over it? I've created new wallpaper which you can have for one lousy dollar. A dollar may not get you a bottle of cola or a third of a gallon of gas, but it
can still get you a screen full of angsty goodness. Of course I'm sure you want
to see what it looks like in full, so head over to the art section where I've also
posted a smaller version as a sample. If you want you can just use that one as wallpaper
for free, if you don't mind having to stretch it. The full version is a huge uncompressed
bitmap (which I'll zip of course), that I'll send through email to anyone who donates.
If you want the full details I've also put this information in the store page. I'll be
making more wallpapers available in the future. Of course if you're still interested
in commissions I'll gladly still honor the free chibi doodle with donation if you'd rather
have that instead.
Lastly I shall mention the most obvious change. New banner. Though I did like the old
coffee stained banner it was showing its age against a constantly changing comic, so I
created this new one. I went with a sort of 50's art deco look for it and weathered it
so it would still have some of the charm of the old logo. This also happens to be the AntiBunny logo I've been using on shirts and flyers for some time now.
Nov. 8, 2007
I'd like to quickly point you over to Keen Zombies where the final strip of the year will be up tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who sent in material and everyone who read. Keen Zombies managed to terrorize the month of October 2007. Here's looking forward to next year.
Moving along I'm also going to point over to LightBringer Which I'm always quick to point out the merrits of. Those of you who visit the forums may know that Lewis Lovhaug ran a bit of a contest a while back to create super villains for a future story arc. Well the future is now and those villains have appeared. Including my own creation Legato Sin. What is interesting is that the core concept behind Sin would also be what eventually gave rise to Furi, though Furi took it in a drastically different direction. I love seeing how two writers can take the same idea and do two totally different things with it. So go read his comic and love it.
Yeah, I've got more ranting to do tonight. I'll be moving soon, but hopefully this won't cause a gap in updates, though it will be pushing back Nailbat Returns until some time in 2008. I dread packing all these transformers I've aquired over the years. Those of you who don't know about my collecting might want to take a look at the collection of one David Willis over at Shortpacked While I don't collect super heroes or GI joes, I can mirror just about any comment he has on any particular transformer because I own the same one 9 times out of 10. Which is kind of scary actually. You start by pulling your old G1s out of the attic, buying a beast wars figure (actually in my case it was Beast Machines Delux Jetstorm) and suddenly your collection count tops 400 if you count minicons and micro masters. Maybe I should be packing instead of ranting.....nah.

It seems there's been a cameo of sorts over at
LightBringer, of Nailbats Nemesis, Michealus Malphas, whom can be found front and center
of panel 1 of the current comic over there. Accompanying that is probably
the most epic yet of the LightBringer story arcs, so everyone should go check out Lewis
Lovhaug's wonderful super hero comic. And while you're checking out comics, don't forget
to also check out Keen Zombies which has moved
on into its third zombie story, and has yet more in store. Lastly I keep forgetting this
so I'll mention it now. Ataraxia Theater did a sort of webcomic review comic of AntiBunny. It's pretty accurate and
good for a laugh too. All apologies for not posting this sooner.
On a non comic related note, I want to talk about Dethklok and their new album "DethAlbum".
If you love metal be it black metal, heavy metal, or death metal, you'll love this album, which simultaneously pokes fun at the very genre of metal and at the same time provides a masterpiece work of metal in its self. I find myself constantly going back to "Face Fisted"
whenever I need to burn off some rage. It's also provided a good deal of inspiration for
drawing the current story arc in AntiBunny. If you can FIND the blasted thing, I strongly
recommend it.

I'd like to first point over to Keen Zombies. It's getting close to launch date, so start sending in those zombies. I've added a new preview image, to keep things interesting before the official launch.
I've also updated the art page. I've put up two new fan arts sent in by readers, one of which is a mystery to me as the artist didn't provide any contact info. I've also put up some pics from me, including today's image, which I thought was better suited for the art page than the archive.
Aug. 26, 2007
The art is updated again. I am on a RAMPAGE. One new art from myself to Komi of Darken and one FROM komi to me as well. In a side bit of news I am addicted to downloading on the Wii virtual console. But where is CHRONO TRIGGER?
Aug. 21, 2007
One big thing and one small thing. First the small. Art has been updated with a new pic of my art.
Now the big thing. Keen Zombies is now official and accepting submissions. The official launch will be october 1st, so that's a good month and ten days to get your crazy zombie violence in order. Check out the submit
section there to find out more. And if you don't want to send in anything just kick back and enjoy all the zombie insanity that I and others will be bringing to you.

What? Two rants in a row? MADNESS! MADNESS I SAY!
Erhem. Okay so I want to point everyone over to the Art Section Which has two new pics
down at the bottom of my art. Specificly that very last one I am quite proud of. I did
that one to test out my shiny new set of manga pens. Expensive but man do they look great.
It gives a smooth professional touch to everything, no fingerprints, no smudges, no scratchy
lines. True ink can be unforgiving, but it's actually easier to edit digitally than pencil. More importantly I've found they give me just the look I've been searching for. Clean and
professional grays but without sacrificing the organic feel of traditional art media. Look
for a style change in AntiBunny soon. I'll be finishing Nailbat Begins in pencil though, as
I want to keep the whole thing in one consistent style, but after that be ready for something
very different.
Now I'd also like to direct you to The Curious Adventures of Aldus Maycombe, which that little piece of test art was based on. This is one of the best gray comics out there in terms of art as well as wit and humor. The 19th century atmosphere really cinches the whole thing. Go, read, and enjoy.
Aug. 16, 2007
Well I finally got around to updating the characters page, which now features some extensions
on the older bios, bios for the newer characters and some bios for characters who haven't shown up yet. I'd also like to mention that Keen Zombies is now under construction, and taking submissions. If you want to participate
now is a good time to start drawing. The official launch will be in october but
it's best to start early. There's a good month and a half to get your brain eating zombies
in order.
Aug. 9, 2007
So it's already August. I look at the clock and think "hurry up" when I'm at work but
when I look at the callender I ask "why the rush?" Enough of that though. I've updated
the links yet again, as I've found a great new bunny site. Binky Bunny A great resource for all things rabbit, and it
has a pretty active and friendly forum too.
In other bunny related news my own pet rabbit Nel is one year old this month. She's been a constant light in my life. I sometimes wonder how people without pets go through life, without some little fuzzy companion to make the days hurt a little less.
On a more frustrating note. I've been playing Transformers Decepticons on the DS and loving it. But this game freezes up so much it's infuriating me to the point of whipping it across the room. Thankfully this game auto saves so not that much progress is lost, but still on longer missions it's disheartening to the point that I just quit playing when it freezes up.
Does this happen to anyone else? I'm thinking of returning it. Oh wait, I should shut up before people start thinking this is a gaming comic.
On one final note I've updated my profile over on Comic Space which is something like myspace only for comics instead of emo people.
Jul. 29, 2007
I keep forgetting to update this blasted rant. I want to point everyone over to
Turtle vs Bunny which is 2 strips
from its ending. The ending? That's up to you. I'm sure if you're here you have at least
a little love for bunnies, so I ask all of you to head over there and cast your vote for bunny. It's a close race and it can go either way. If you've seen the Art Section you've no doubt noticed the amount of
art I've sent them. So, everyone head over there and show your support for our cottontailed
friend.
Next up let me point you over once more to Lightbringer where I'm doing a series of guest strips under the name "Lightbungler". If you want to see my goofy take on an already very
clever webcomic, then go take a look.
Yeah this is going to be a long rant. Next up I want to say sorry for failing to update
the archive page. It's back up to date now. Also updated is the art section with two more keenswim pics, and a pile more of Turtle vs Bunny pinups some of which I'm quite proud of, one new pic for Fox Tails, and two new fanarts from some of AntiBunny's fans. I always love getting fanart. You could doodle stick man and I'd be happy to get it. All fanart is awesome.
Jul. 17, 2007
I'm giving advance warning. The comics are about to get bigger, going up to 1000px. That means it'll take a bit longer to load (about a 50k filesize difference) and take up more of the screen. To compensate I've halved the size of the sidebar by making smaller buttons, and moving the shoutbox to below the comments, just to the left of this very rant. This might actually be a bit more convenient since the shoutbox will be right in your face as you finish the comic, and check the rants. Also gives you a chance to read the rants and rant right back at me. Hopefully all this cutting down of the redundant aspects of the site will even out with the increased demands I'm putting on you with the comic. Wait until thursday when you'll see the new bigger comic. If you all really hate it, use the forum, the shoutbox, or email and just tell me. Just the same tell me if you like it.
Jul, 12, 2007
I want to mention that a number of the pics I've sent in to Keenswim Have gone up. In fact if you check right now, one of them just happens to be up there on the front page. I'll later also provide them in the art page here but if you want to see them now you should surf on over there and take a look. Plenty of artists have sent their stuff in there, and it's all worth seeing.
Also I'm updating links again. I've added MindMistress to the links. Why, after speaking so highly of this comic, did I take so long to add it? I was still reading the archive. I only link a comic here if I read it regularly and I've finished the archive. Rather strict, maybe but I think it means that if I DO link a comic, it means that it's something that you should try out as well.
,br>
I'd also like to mention, though perhaps a bit late in saying it. Transformers rocked. Yes the humans were annoying but since G1 they've been the bane of Transformers, and must be tollerated so taht we might better enjoy our giant robot throw downs. Except the army guys. The army guys were awesomesauce. Okay I'm done ranting
Jun. 24, 2007
Seems the folks over at Turtle vs Bunny,
liked the cameo of Bunny in the most recent Nailbat, and have been kind enough to offer
a front page link in their next news post. Those of you who don't read should, and show your
support for the bunny, in their unique comic that constantly changes and evolves based on
the audience's response. On a side note I've added some new art in the Art Section in the "My Art" area, where you'll find three of my latest
creations, which also just happen to be for Turtle vs. Bunny.
Speaking of art, KeenSwim 2007 is coming. I've sent them a whopping
five submissions, but if you want to see them, you'll have to go to the keenswim site
starting January 1st. I'll eventually add them here as well of course, but the first look
will be at Keenswim, not here. Of course I doubt I have trouble convincing everyone here
to go to a website with lots of characters in skimpy swimsuits.
Now allow me a moment to sing the praises of something entirely non bunny related. I am
greatly enjoying Resident Evil 4: Wii edition. The use of the wiimote pointer to aim makes
getting those all important headshots, so much easier. This game is also much more generous with ammo than the older RE installments. The lack of Ammo is something often lamented, back on my old webcomic UBERGEEK, during one of my personal favorite story arcs, the RE parody. It was 8 bit and my computer crashed all the
time back then, but laughter was attained, and that was my ultimiate goal. But enough of this ranting. I have guest strips to scan.
Jun. 20, 2007
Some of you can see this and some of you can't. I'm still resolving issues with
the iframes here. For some reason the iframes get mixed up under firefox so
sometimes the advertisement or keenspace newsbox ends up in this frame instead of the
rant space. Not sure what causes that. But if you can see this let it be known that I've
updated the characters section, massively. Now there's an entry for Metabat, whom
was created at the end of the evil inc crossover, a whole sub section for minor characters
and an area for cameos as well.
Jun. 19, 2007
I think I finally have this thing working now. While I'm at it, some news. First of all
big thanks to MindMistress Aparently the author liked seeing the cameo and gave me a front page link back. If you love super heroes or just plain smart webcomics, you should go and read Mindmistress. Also I've been
quite industrius. Coming right off the end of a crossover with Evil Inc. I'm working on a guest story for LightBringer It should go up after the completion of the current guest story. I'll update the rant when it goes up. But if you
want to enjoy a just plain good comic, you should be reading LightBringer already. Lastly
I'd just like to say a bit YIPPIE! because the keenspace (comicgen for the less old fashioned
of you) server woes are at an end. They've installed a third server and all the updates are
coming on time. This also means you should go check the archive if you've missed anything.
Jun. 5, 2007
I've at last finished uploading everything from Akon. I got some awsome gift arts from
the artists there. So go check out the Art Section and see the stuff sent in by A. Wheatly, Laureka, Steven Gonzales, and Lori. I uploaded a couple of pieces
of my own as well, including a pic that I succeeded in selling at A-kon in the art show. I
do hope the buyer enjoys it. Additionally I've posted all my photos from the con on the
forum. Take a look around and enjoy the bunny goodness.
